Ancestry Origins Updates

Have you checked out your Ancestry Origins Updates for your family tree? I knew I was mostly Irish, but now with these updates I know better where to look for those ancestors I don't know yet.
Ancestry used AI to reanalyze all of our DNA matches and those in their growing test database to sort out better where these familial lines were based together.
And now they have determined which pieces of DNA were inherited from GRANDPARENTS.
Remember, we get ABOUT 50% of our DNA from each parent when all those little pieces separate and hook back up in the process of making a person. Then ROUGHLY we get 25% of each grandparent in our mix.
Ancestry advises that 27% of my grandparents' DNA could not be sorted out because there are not enough matches in my tree and those of my various cousins.
Here is a snapshot of the Ancestry Origins Update for 2025 vs. 2024. My test in 2024 said I was "87% Irish." Last year's update narrowed it down to 4 different regions of Ireland with only 5% in Donegal, which is now up to 15% in Ulster, which is more accurate as far as my own research of my maternal line being from County Louth on the other side of the country. The Netherlands have disappeared altogether in this update as presumably there were no definitive matches found by AI.3265

The better isolation of the English matches might help with the ancestry of the unknown parents of my paternal great grandfather as the Ancestry Origins suggest they may be from Cornwall.
The graphics explaining all of these changes are great and I strongly suggest you take some time to look it over this weekend if you haven't already. If you end up with more questions than answers, send me an email and maybe I can help (for FREE).
Thank you for sharing your time with me,
Leslie Ryan
